Melissa LaBonte Wilson, PhD

Dr. Melissa LaBonte Wilson is a Senior Lecturer in Molecular Oncology and Principal Investigator at Queen’s University Belfast, where she leads the Nucleotide Metabolism Group, CV6 Therapeutics’ academic partner laboratory. A Scientific Advisor to CV6 since 2014, she has contributed to the development of the company’s scientific programmes and supports research on therapeutics that exploit nucleotide biosynthesis in cancer cells, including DNA uracilation.

Dr. LaBonte Wilson has twenty years of experience in cancer biology and the preclinical evaluation of small molecule and biologic-based therapeutics, including therapies targeting DNA synthesis and related cellular pathways. Her work focuses on mechanism-based therapeutic development and nucleotide metabolism in cancer.

Dr. LaBonte Wilson earned her PhD in Systems Biology and Disease from the University of Southern California, where she trained in the laboratory of Dr. Robert D. Ladner.
