Robert Comfort, JD

Robert Comfort is a highly accomplished legal and tax executive with a distinguished career spanning law, corporate leadership, and public service. He served as Chief Tax Officer of Amazon.com from 2000 to 2011, overseeing global tax strategy during a period of significant growth for the company.

Prior to Amazon, Mr. Comfort was a senior partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he led the firm’s tax practice in Philadelphia and held leadership roles within both firm and office management. He has held leadership positions in the Tax Sections of the American Bar Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association and is a member of the American College of Tax Counsel.

Mr. Comfort received an A.B. summa cum laude from Princeton University and a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he served as Supreme Court Note Editor of the Harvard Law Review. He clerked for Judge James Hunter III on the U.S. Court of Appeals and for Justice Lewis F. Powell on the U.S. Supreme Court.

He sits on the Board of Directors of CV6 Therapeutics.
