Chris Takimoto, MD, PhD
Independent Board Member
Dr. Chris Takimoto is Chief Medical Officer of START (South Texas Accelerated Research Therapeutics), a leading early-phase clinical trials organization focused on oncology drug development. He brings extensive experience in advancing cancer therapies from first-in-human studies through proof of concept.
Previously, Dr. Takimoto served as Vice President and Head of Experimental Medicine & Early Development in Oncology at Janssen Research & Development, where he led clinical development across a broad oncology portfolio. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at the National Cancer Institute and the Institute for Drug Development in San Antonio, where he was a founding member of START and held the Zachry Chair for Translational Research.
Dr. Takimoto earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and completed both his MD and PhD at Yale University. He completed clinical training in internal medicine and fellowships in medical oncology and clinical pharmacology.
He is an Independent Board Member of CV6 Therapeutics.
