Ian Bruce, MD

Professor Ian Bruce is Pro Vice Chancellor for the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast and Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Manchester. He is an NIHR Senior Investigator Emeritus and a recognized leader in clinical research and translational medicine.

His work has focused on autoimmune disease and immune-mediated mechanisms, including leadership of the British Isles Lupus Assessment Group (BILAG) Biologics Register, a major UK cohort studying patients with systemic lupus erythematosus treated with biologic therapies. He previously served as Director of the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre, where he led large-scale clinical research programs.

Professor Bruce brings deep expertise in immune biology, clinical trials, and translational research, supporting CV6 Therapeutics in the advancement of its programs, including those with potential applications in inflammatory disease.
