BELFAST, Northern Ireland, 2 October 2026 — CV6 Therapeutics Founder and CEO Dr. Robert D. Ladner has been shortlisted for the CEO of the Year – Small Business & Start-Ups Award at the 2026 Business Post Leadership Awards.
Presented by the Business Post and powered by Grant Thornton, the awards recognise executives and changemakers for their achievements, leadership approach and lasting contributions. Dr. Ladner is one of ten leaders shortlisted in his category from organisations across the island of Ireland.
Dr. Ladner founded CV6 around research he began at the University of Southern California and chose to establish the company in Belfast. Under his leadership, CV6 has grown into a clinical stage biotechnology company developing first in class medicines for cancer and inflammatory disease.
The company’s lead oncology programme, CV6-168, is being evaluated in a first in human Phase 1 clinical trial involving cancer centres in Belfast and across the UK. CV6 has also attracted more than $50 million in investment over the course of its development while building its scientific and operational base in Northern Ireland.
“I am honoured to be included among this group of leaders,” said Dr. Ladner. “Building CV6 in Belfast has required persistence, excellent science and the commitment of a team that believes in what this work could mean for patients. This recognition belongs to all of them.”
The winners will be announced at the Business Post Leadership Awards ceremony on Thursday, 12 November 2026, at The Round Room at the Mansion House in Dublin.

Organized by Northern Ireland business magazine Business Eye in partnership with AIB, the awards are marking their 20th year of recognizing achievement, innovation and leadership across the region’s business community.
From Discovery to Clinical Development: CV6 grew from an original scientific idea into a clinical-stage biotechnology company, the Northern Ireland ecosystem supporting that journey, and the company’s work across cancer and inflammatory disease.
