CV6 Therapeutics was named Team of the Year at the 2026 Belfast Chamber Business Awards, held in partnership with Bank of Ireland. The awards were presented at a black-tie gala at ICC Belfast, attended by hundreds of guests. The Team of the Year category was sponsored by Cathedral Quarter BID, Belfast.
The company also received Highly Commended recognition in Business Innovation, sponsored by Kingsbridge Healthcare Group, for CV6-168, its first-in-class investigational oncology medicine, now nearing completion of its Phase 1a clinical trial.
CV6 was the only biotechnology company on the Team of the Year shortlist. The other finalists were the Airbus Belfast 350F Engineering Team, Cathedral Eye Clinic and Cathedral Dermatology Clinic, HireIQ, Huron Consulting Group, Ionic Technologies and Queen’s Business School Careers. The finalists represented fields ranging from aerospace and healthcare to consulting, critical materials and higher education.
In a LinkedIn post after the ceremony, CV6 CEO and Founder Dr Robert D. Ladner wrote:
“This recognition belongs to our scientists; our leadership, operational, legal, and communications colleagues; the clinicians and trial teams caring for patients across the UK; our Board; our scientific and medical advisors; our investors and supporters; and everyone who has helped move CV6-168 from laboratory research into patients. I am extremely proud of this team.”
Originally founded in Los Angeles, CV6 relocated its research team to Belfast in 2015 as a QUBIS-supported spin-in. Today, CV6 is a QUBIS portfolio company, and its Belfast team works at the Johnston Cancer Research Centre at Queen’s University Belfast. CV6 is proud to be part of Belfast’s wider workforce and life sciences community.
The evening also honoured Dr Len O’Hagan, Chair of Queen’s University Senate and a director of QUBIS Ltd, with the Lifetime Achievement Award. CV6 congratulates Dr O’Hagan and all the finalists and winners recognised at the ceremony.
Dr. Robert D. Ladner has been shortlisted alongside nine business leaders from across the island of Ireland after building CV6 into a GUSR platform company whose first-in-class lead oncology candidate is advancing through a first-in-human Phase 1a clinical trial.
Organized by Northern Ireland business magazine Business Eye in partnership with AIB, the awards are marking their 20th year of recognizing achievement, innovation and leadership across the region’s business community.
