DUBLIN, Ireland — May 2026 — CV6 Therapeutics CEO and Founder Dr. Robert D. Ladner recently participated in two major oncology innovation events in Dublin, joining leaders from industry, healthcare, academia, and government to discuss opportunities to accelerate cancer research, clinical development, and patient access to new therapies.
The events highlighted the growing role Ireland is playing in oncology innovation and the importance of collaboration across research institutions, healthcare systems, biotechnology companies, and investors to advance scientific discoveries into clinical impact.
On May 18, Dr. Ladner participated in the inaugural Consultation Forum for the proposed All-Island Oncology Innovation Cluster, hosted by the All-Island Cancer Research Institute at the Museum of Literature Ireland. The forum brought together stakeholders from across the cancer ecosystem to explore how greater collaboration could strengthen Ireland’s position as a global center for oncology innovation.
The following day, Dr. Ladner joined the Innovators Panel at the All-Island Cancer Summit at Croke Park. The discussion focused on the realities of building and scaling oncology companies, translating scientific discoveries into clinical programs, and creating pathways that ultimately bring new therapies to patients.
Joining Dr. Ladner on the panel were Ashwani Bahl, Head of Research and Development at Carrick Therapeutics; Jenny Fitzgerald, Chief Revenue Officer of Diagnexia; and Barbara Oliveira, Chief Clinical Officer and Co-Founder of Luminate Medical.
Originally from the United States, Dr. Ladner earned his doctorate at Rutgers University and previously led a major cancer research program at the University of Southern California before founding CV6 Therapeutics and relocating to Northern Ireland. Throughout his career, his research has focused on understanding the biological mechanisms that influence the effectiveness of cornerstone cancer therapies and identifying new approaches to improve patient outcomes.
“One of the themes that emerged consistently throughout both events was the extraordinary strength of the scientific, clinical, and entrepreneurial talent that exists across the island of Ireland,” said Dr. Ladner. “The opportunity now is to connect those strengths more intentionally and create an environment that accelerates the translation of promising science into therapies that can benefit patients worldwide.”
Headquartered in Belfast with research facilities at Queen’s University Belfast, CV6 Therapeutics is advancing a pipeline of investigational therapies centered on uracil-DNA metabolism. Its lead oncology program, CV6-168, is currently in Phase 1a clinical development.
For CV6, participation in these conversations reflects a broader commitment to contributing to the growth of Ireland’s life sciences ecosystem while advancing innovative therapeutic approaches designed to improve outcomes for patients with cancer and inflammatory disease.
As Ireland continues to expand its role in global oncology research and development, initiatives focused on collaboration, innovation, and translational science are expected to play an increasingly important role in shaping the future of cancer care.
CV6 Therapeutics was proud to participate in “Spin Out to Stand Out,” a recent alumni and innovation event hosted by Queen's University Belfast and QUBIS on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, highlighting the strength of Northern Ireland’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.
CV6 Therapeutics today announced the appointment of veteran oncology drug developer Dr. Chris Takimoto to its Board of Directors as the company advances its lead program, CV6-168, through Phase 1a clinical development.
