In August 2024, Drug Discovery World reported that patient dosing had begun in CV6 Therapeutics’ Phase Ia clinical trial of CV6-168, an investigational dUTPase inhibitor, in combination with infusional 5-fluorouracil (5-FU).
The study was designed to evaluate safety, how the drug behaves in the body, and early signs of anticancer activity in patients with advanced solid tumors that had not responded to standard treatment. The initial trial planned to include up to 50 patients at cancer centers in Belfast, Glasgow, Newcastle, and London.
The article also explores the science behind CV6-168, with insights from Chief Investigator Professor Richard Wilson and CV6 founder and CEO Dr. Robert Ladner.
CV6 Therapeutics (NI) Ltd. (“CV6”) today announced the successful dosing of the second patient in its Phase 1a study evaluating CV6-168 + infusional 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in cancer patients.
CV6 Therapeutics was proud to participate in “Spin Out to Stand Out,” a recent alumni and innovation event hosted by Queen's University Belfast and QUBIS on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, highlighting the strength of Northern Ireland’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.
